Being a student at the Atlantic is being a member of the Atlantic family. We are the only acting school in New York City which is fully integrated with a thriving theater company. The energy is electric and you can feel it the moment you walk through the door. You will see working professionals in the hallway as they rehearse for upcoming shows on the Atlantic mainstage and you will see these same professionals teaching you in the classroom. Students are encouraged to dive in as new members of this community in the same way they’re encouraged to support their ensemble. We are champions of professionalism, work ethic, and bravery. It is these characteristics which we strive to instill in all our students before they leave us to pursue their individual careers. Because of this, it is our goal to work together and we really want to work with you. The Atlantic Acting School is the first place the Atlantic Theater Company looks to when casting their productions. Over the years, hundreds of students and alumni have had the opportunity to audition for professional productions at the Atlantic. Many of them were cast in various productions and went on to earn their equity cards as a result.
Atlantic Theater Company ensemble members, many of whom serve on the faculty, work regularly on the Atlantic mainstage as actors, designers, directors, and writers. Members have gone on to exciting careers in film and television, but still return to their first love – the New York Theater. The ensemble interacts with the students as teachers, mentors, collaborators and colleagues
