Mask-Making, Costume Play, Theater Games, Create and Rehearse a play, Learn a Tune and more!
Engaging unique aspects of their personalities, the kids will form their own theater company and have classes in acting, storytelling, styles of theater, creative writing, music and art. Weekly themes include: Mythical & Magical Creatures, A Space Odyssey, Mysterious Masquerade, Clowning Around, Things That Fly & Where the Wild Things Are. Each week wraps with an “open rehearsal” for family and friends.

SUMMER YOUNG CREATORS WORKSHOP / Ages 9, 10 & 11
Perform a Show, Create Costumes & Sets, Learn How an Actor Prepares and more!
Weaving acting, music and art, students will work on age appropriate published theater material such as You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, James and the Giant Peach, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan & Putnam County Spelling Bee. Guided by their director through the actor’s process of preparation and creating a character, students delve into monologue and scene work as they rehearse their show. Each session will present their show for an audience of family and friends.

This intensive will introduce young actors to a physical and vocal warm-up, improv, technique and scene study while engaging their creative abilities through costume/set workshops and creating a short film project. Each session ends with a “work in progress” for an audience of family and friends.

Young Actors will spend their days in front of the camera with three specific areas of focus: On Camera Technique, Auditioning and Monologues. Students will be introduced to the Atlantic acting technique of script analysis and repetition and apply these new techniques to Film and TV copy. Perfect for the student who is looking to gain experience in front of the camera as well as be introduced to helpful auditioning skills. Includes a guest class with an industry professional.

NEW! Summer Stock Theater
July 29 – August 16 (3 wks)
Tuition: $1800
In the tradition of presenting a stage production in the summer, our Young Actors will form a resident company, and rehearse and perform an adapted published play under the guidance of their director. The first 2 weeks will focus on the rehearsal process and making specific choices to develop a character along with company work on the through-line of the play. The 3rd week students will move into their theater space for tech and dress rehearsal. Culminates in 2 performances for friends and family on Friday, August 16.
